Hat Head National Park Camp SitesFrom the Pacific Highway, follow the signs to South West Rocks, and after Spencers Creek bridge take a right turn onto Arakoon Road. Turn right into Lighthouse Road and continue straight ahead for Smoky Cape Lighthouse or turn right into Smoky Cape Campground Road for the Smoky Cape camping area.Hungry Gate camping area (20 sites)This campground is in a delightful setting, protected by the park's unspoiled sand dunes. The area is surrounded by thick heath and woodland vegetation. You'll need to bring drinking water. There is a recycling station, however, taking all your garbage away is appreciated. Getting there: From Kempsey or Clybucca, take the South West Rocks Rd to Kinchela. Turn right and follow signs to Hat Head, just before the bridge turn right towards the Gap, take the first right and then follow signs to Hungry Gate Camping Area. Smoky Cape camping area (20 sites)This low-key campground is nestled among the rainforest just below the lighthouse at Smoky Cape, on a beautiful, isolated stretch of the coast. You'll need to bring drinking water. There is a recycling station, however, taking all your garbage away is appreciated. Getting there: Take the South West Rocks road, and turn onto Arakoon Road. Facilities: picnic tables, non-flush toilets
