Oodnadatta
Caravan Parks, SA
Oodnadatta lies in northern South Australia on the Oodnadatta track. The Pink
Roadhouse is an impressive landmark in the town. Painted bright pink, the
roadhouse has hot food, groceries, post office, fuel and mechanical repairs.
As you travel the Oodnadatta Track, you will see information signs at various
points of interest erected by the folks at the Pink Roadhouse.
The railway closed in 1980, and the old railway station has been converted into a museum that records the history of the surrounding area and the lives of stockmen and railway workers.
4WD travellers can head to the thermal ponds at Dalhousie Springs where you can bathe in the warm water, and visit the nearby ruins of Dalhousie Station. Adventurers can take their 4WD to Witjira National Park and the Simpson Desert.
