Poochera Caravan Parks, SA

640km west of Adelaide, Poochera had its beginnings as a small service town for the surrounding pastoral community. Its role has not changed with the years. The town, which wasn’t surveyed until 1920, lies in pleasant, undulating country well-known for its prolific clusters of natural pines that dominate the skyline.

The prominent Gawler Ranges offer panoramic views of the central plains lie 30km east of Poochera. To the west is Streaky Bay, a picturesque coastal resort, famous for its rich fishing grounds of King George whiting, crayfish and abalone.

With its hotel, caravan park, golf course, tennis courts, rest areas, Poochera, is a convenient stop-over for visitors travelling the Eyre Highway between Port Augusta at the head of Spencer Gulf and Ceduna, the last town of any size for motorists heading west to the Nullabor Plain.
