Tumby
Bay is an attractive resort town 50km north of Port Lincoln on the east coast
of Eyre Peninsula. It is a fishing delight, with two jetties, off the rocks
and in the surf. It is an area, particularly round Ponta and Cowley’s
beaches, of rugged beauty, complemented by a Norfolk pine-lined foreshore,
while the main swimming beach is backed by lawns, picnic and barbecue facilities.
Catch up on Tumby Bay’s history in the C.L. Alexander National Trust
Museum which is housed in an old wooden schoolroom. You can charter a cruise
to the Sir Joseph Banks Islands, lying 12 nautical miles off the coast. Dolphins
are also frequent in-shore visitors
