QLD Gladstone - Currimundi Nature Reserve

In the middle of the busy resort of Caloundra lies this small remnant of wallum heath once common on the Sunshine Coast. Discover the special beauty of this unspoilt stretch of coastline. Go for a quiet stroll beside the lake.

Look for birds in the heath. See brown honeyeaters, fairy wrens, native finches, noisy friarbirds. Enjoy the wildflowers late winter and spring.

Picnic next door in the local authority picnic area where picnic tables and barbecues are provided. Camping is not allowed in the park

Location

The park is on Currimundi Lake’s northern shore, just north of Caloundra. Head north along the Nicklin Way
