Australian Televison

There are five free-to-air TV stations in Australia (ABC 2, Ch 7, Ch 9, Ch 10 and SBS)

The ABC is on channel 2 and is the Australian goverment owned.  It features arts & current affairs TV shows.

Channels seven, nine & ten are the commercial stations with home grown TV shows and international TV shows.

SBS is government run with a focus on multi-cultural & international TV shows, which results in a mix of sub-titled films, news broadcasts from a variety of countries, and English & European football.

Foxtel has movies, sports, lifestyle, and music orientated TV shows.
