another town that was designed by Walter Burley Griffin, the designer of Canberra.
The town has planned wide streets and parks. The local area is famous as a
fruit growing region with a large cannery that processes over 25,000 tonnes
of peaches, pears apricots and tomatoes each year. Oldest of the Murrumbidgee
Irrigation Area towns established in 1912. Largest cannery in New South Wales.
There is also a rice mill, a winery and college of agriculture.
