Morisset
is in a central position to explore Macquarie lake. The town has direct access
to the lake from the Casuarina Point Reserve on the tip of Morisset Peninsula.
The reserve, which looks out over the lake to the Wangi Wangi Peninsula has
a boat ramp and swimming pool.
Morisset is also within a few minutes of the Sydney and Newcastle Expressway
and its rapid transit links to the resort towns of the Central Coast, the splendour
and bush walking trails of the Watagan Mountains State Forest and the Newcastle
surf beaches. Once prized for the their high quality timbers such as blackbutt,
she-oak, tallow and red cedar, the forests of Watagan are now protected
