Toukley
has developed on a peninsula between Tuggerah and Budgewoi lakes. It has safe
swimming, fishing, wind-surfing and boating, beaches and stunning scenery. There’s
good prawning and crabbing to be done around the lakes, and in July the town
holds an Azalea Festival.
Toukley also claims the southern hemisphere’s largest Senior Citizen’s
Centre which caters for the needs of 40,000 during the course of a year. The
F3 freeway, train and bus services make Toukley easily accessible from Sydney
and Newcastle, while the central coast’s myriad surf beaches, bush and
boating havens and theme parks are only a few minutes drive away.
