Yass,
NSW
Hamilton Hume discovered the Yass Plains in 1821 and later made his home here.
The town was considered as a site for the Federal capital and placed third
on the list of most desirable sites. Two Banks Intricately decorated with
ironwork reflect the prosperity of the 1880’s and St Clement Anglican
Church is another design from Edmund Blacket.
| A medium size town on the Yass river. The main street has many old buildings from a past thiving era for the town. |
