Young,
NSW
Young is situated in the south-west region of southern New South Wales, less
than two hours drive from Canberra. Young is considered the 'Cherry Capital
of Australia’ as the area boasts many cherry and stonefruit orchards,
some offering ‘pick your own’ services. Highlights of the year
include the Cherry Blossom festival in September/October and the National
Cherry Festival in late November/Early December.
A pleasant country town in a bowl of low hills neatly laid out with cherry orchards. The large clock tower attached to the town hall is the highest structure on the main street and is a World War I memorial.
