Charlotte Pass , NSW

At 1760m, it is the highest village in Australia and has its highest ski lift point at 1920m; trails catering for novices to advanced skiers and four lifts are on offer.

In winter the road to Charlotte Pass is covered in snow and only accessible by over-snow vehicles. In summer, getting to Charlotte Pass is easy. From Jindabyne, drive 40 minutes along the Kosciuszko Road, passing spectacular scenary and Perisher Village. At the end of the road you will find the Charlotte Pass lookout, affording incredible views across the main range.

Charlotte Pass is a great starting point for a walk to the top of Mount Kosciuszko (9km each way) or the Main Range Walk. Allow several hours to complete the Main Range Walk, which takes you on a loop past magnificent glacial lakes to Mount Kosciuszko, with splendid views across to the Victorian Alps, and returns to Charlotte Pass, 22km in total.

From mid January until late February enjoy the glorious fields of alpine wildflowers.
