Yamba is a pretty little fishing town and resort on the mouth of the Clarence
River. Excellent fishing and varied watersports can be enjoyed here. Just
to the south is the small town of Angourie, famous for its excellent surfing
beaches.
Aabout 680 kilometres north of Sydney, lies Yamba, the largest town in the
Maclean Shire. The town hasa population of around 5000, it is the focal point
of the shire's booming tourist industry with great surfing and excellent fishing.
Yamba enjoys some of the best weather in the country, making it an ideal year-round holiday destination. Visitors are drawn by the opportunity to go whale watching, when Southern Right and Humpback whales can be seen as they migrate north in August to September. A good spot to see them is from Yamba Lighthouse, an interesting place to visit at other times too. Dolphins can be seen at any time of the year, and other activities include surfing, boating and fishing.

Clarence River is a major source of seafood and produces a wide variety of
fish, along with oysters, lobsters and prawns
