Adelaide River, NT
Adelaide River is a small settlement found between Darwin and Katherine in the Northern Territory's Top End. Adelaide River is just over 200 north-east of Katherine
Just north of the town is a large WWII cemetery for 434 servicemen and 54 civilians, who were killed by air-raids in Darwin.
There
are some historical sites and pleasant scenic locations for walking and fishing.
A war memorial cemetery on the outskirts of this settlement was for Australian servicemen and a memorial service is held here on the Sunday nearest November 11. The township’s races and show are in June.
