Jabiru , NT
Jabiru is the dormitory town for workers on the Ranger Uranium mine, some 6 km east and it located within the boundaries of World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park. It has established facilities and if you're spending a few days in the national park, it is one of the few places to obtain supplies.
Take
a stroll down by Lake Jabiru Park to see the jabiru feeding along the mud
flats. The jabiru is a Australia's largest stork easily identified by its
long red legs.
