Aramac
is located 68 kms North of Barcaldine. Aramac township is situated on Aramac
Creek, which flows into the Thompson River some 60 kms west of town. These
watercourses all form part of the Lake Eyre Basin Catchment. The township
is located on rich black soil and relies solely on water from the Great Artesian
Basin to service the needs of the community
Quiet pastoral town on Aramac Creek. Race meetings are in July and September.
