Bedourie
is located 1600 km west of Brisbane. Birdsville 200 km south of Bedourie and
is 1200 km from Adelaide. Bedourie is the Shire's administration centre. The
last ten years has seen its population double to 120 people. The town boasts
many new amenities including an aquatic centre, artesian spa and a large community
hall.
Dust storms are often known in the west as Bedourie Showers. The Bedourie Oven also originated in this tiny town.
