Chinchilla, QLD

Attractive town with tree lined streets. Tourist attraction is the old gaol which is part of the museum and has a working vintage steam sawmill and a copy of Qantas ticket No 1.

The Chinchilla Shire boasts an area of approximately 300 kilometres west of Brisbane. The Warrego Highway traverses the lush and productive Darling Downs region, carries the traveller to this warm and friendly township and then runs on to the great expanse of Western Queensland - the legendary "Outback".
