Flanking the river of the same name, Nerang is a suburban village buffer between
the Gold Coast City tourist strip and the green of the hinterland.
In the foothills of the McPherson Range, Nerang remained a rural township
surrounded by dairy farms. It retains a good deal of its bushland charm. The
rainforest, range-top villages of Mt Tamborine and Springbook are within an
hour’s drive, while the excellent fishing grounds and picnicking areas
of Hinze Dam are even closer.
