Cockatoo Valley lies in the scenic southern section of the Barossa Valley,
famed for its wine-making industry. It is an easy and scenic drive to the
hub of the Barossa while being only one hour from Adelaide. Close at hand
are the old gold diggings at Goldfields Walk, while wineries, restaurants,
museums, a lavender farm and golf courses are only a few minutes drive away.
At Barossa Reservoir is the famous Whispering Wall, where unusual acoustic
conditions allow a message whispered at one end of the dam wall to be clearly
heard at the other end. Parra Wirra Recreation Park lies to the south of Cockatoo
Valley and here you may catch glimpses of wildlife and an abundance of birds
