The tiny town of Parachilna is the gateway to the northern Flinders Ranges.
The road passes through Parachilna Gorge which marks the end of the long distance
Heysen Walking Trail which runs for 1,200 kilometres from Cape Jervis on the
south coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula.
At the historic mining town of Blinman is the end of the Mawson Trail, an 800
kilometre mountain bike path from Adelaide. The northern end of the Flinders
ranges includes the Great Wall of China, a limestone ridge, Aroona Valley, Brachina
Gorge and Scenic Glass Gorge, noted for its spring wildflowers.
In
Parachilna itself there is little more than the pub.
