Victor Harbour, SA

Victor Harbour has long been a playground for generations of the Adelaide social set. In recent years, however, its appeal has spread as world travellers have ‘discovered’ this resort on the southern shores of the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Leading town on the south coast and popular holiday destination. The predominant landmark is Rosetta Head, a rocky outcrop overlooking Encounter Bay. Granite Island is connected by a causeway which carries a train during summer. A Petticoat Lane Fair is held during the Australia Day Weekend.

Victor Harbour has just about everything you want for a holiday - sun, surf and sand, clear turquoise waters, stunning views, outstanding early colonial architecture and a Clydesdale-drawn tram to haul you across an 800m causeway to Granite Island to see the 1500 resident penguins on their return from a day’s fishing.

The family attractions include Greenhills Adventure Park, Encounters Coast Discovery Centre, Wild Rose Miniature Village, Urimbirra Wild Life Park and nearby Nangawooka flora park
