Coffin Bay, SA

The coastline of the Eyre Peninsula, carved out by the full force of the Southern Ocean is unique and diverse with rugged rock transformations, sheltered bays, towering cliffs along the Great Australian Bight, long sandy beaches and arid desert. It is often referred to the peninsula of parks with nearly half its area set aside as reserves, parks and native bushland.

Picturesque fishing village lying protected at the head of the bay and twisting inlet of the same name. The scenery, solitude and setting attracts many visitors. The bay is 45km long and protected by sandy promontories which make the inner reaches safe and calm. Boats cen be hired and the maze of channels and waterways are ideal for exploring. Coffin Bay Peninsula is particular scenic, with excellent beaches along Yangie Trail. A lookout on the approach road gives views over the village to the coast.
