Cygnet
is a town in the Huon Valley region of southern Tasmania.There are numerous
craft shops, such as woodturners and pottery shops. There are several berry
orchards in the area, The area alos has good spots to fossick for gemstones.
To the east of Cygnet at Garnder's Bay is the Hartzview Vineyard, and the
Talune Wildlife Park.
This town is between hills at the end of the inlet. Shipyards which began during the first half of the previous century are still in business. Grape and fruit wines are produced by the Chateau Lorraine winery, the most southern in the world. The Fishing Carnival is held here in March.
