Mt Wellington, TAS

Overlooking Hobart and as much a part of the State capital as its streets. A bitumen road leads to The Pinnacle at the summit. Views are superb and on a clear day as far as the southern mountains can be seen. The peak is often covered in snow in winter and usually wreathed in mist or cloud. Many walking tracks available with one of the most popular being a 3km hike from the Springs to the Pinnacle past the Organ Pipes, one of southern Tasmania’s most developed climbing cliffs and has more than 120 routes ranging from low grades to ascents beyond all but the best climbers.
