Georgian gem of the south, little changed over a century, with the earliest Catholic church and oldest bridge in Australia. Across the river, St Luke’s is well known for its complex ceiling, a mass of struts and joists which earned the convict responsible his freedom when the building was completed in 1836. Tasmania’s oldest registered motor vehicle, a 1901 car, is to be found in the Bridge Inn museum.
