St.
Marys is located to the west of St. Patrick's Head, where the South Esk River
starts. St. Marys is at the junction of the Tasman and Fingal Highways. South
of St. Marys is the Douglas-Apsley National Park. St. Marys is known for the
coastal views from the surrounding hills and mountains, such as Elephant Pass.
Railway terminus and sleepy township in the shadow of the Mt Nicholas Range. The road to the north drops through winding St Marys Pass. In the other direction it climbs Elephant Pass where views of the mountains and coast are breathtaking.
