Longford,

On the junction of the South Esk and Lake rivers, and the home every January of the Tasmanian Folk Festival. Fine colonial buildings dot the town and several mansions grace the countryside. The town’s show is held in October.

is located at the junction of the Macquarie and the South Esk Rivers,
27 kms from Launceston, and 12kms off the Midlands Highway. Longford features
many well preserved colonial buildings. Christ Church (one of the oldest
churches in the state) has beautiful windows and clock. There are many
convict-built houses and cottages in the town. |
