Large and busy deepwater port. Of special interest are Portland Gardens and a museum in the Caledonian Inn. There are breathtaking views at Cape Nelson, a petrified forest and several blowholes. Portland’s Festival, fishing contest and rodeo are all held in January. The Agricultural Show is held in February.
