179 kms north of Melbourne. Travel by car via the Northern Hwy. Daily coach services available from Melbourne. A large township located on the Campaspe River, in the centre of an agricultural, pastoral and irrigation district.

In the heart of the Campaspe Valley, the town has a large dairy produce factory and a booming tomato industry. An intricate engineering feat is the Campaspa siphon, where the Warange-Mallee irrigation channels run beneath the river. The annual show is held here in February.
