The area around the upper Murray is the first in the country to be irrigated
and has been transformed into rich farm land producing citrus fruits and world-class
wine.This is also a great place for a summer holiday with many water-sports
to enjoy including;- fishing, sailing, waterskiing and swimming.
Patriarch of the great river ports, the thriving city is at the junction of the Murray and Campaspe Rivers. The huge quay was once five times its present length and built with several decks to allow for changes in the river height. The Rich River Festival is held in October and there are steam rallies in January and June. The annual show in held in November.
