Kalgoorlie
is located 40 kilometres east of Coolgardie, 595 kilometres east of Perth
and 200 kilometres north of Norseman. Gold is still the majro industry for
the town. The Golden Mile is now a Super Pit. that measures 290 metres deep
by 1.5 kilometres wide and 4 kilometres long.
Queen of the Golden Mile, Eldorado that made thousands of fortunes. In its heyday, after the big strike in 1893, Kalgoorlie was known around the world and the Golden Mile was the richest square mile on earth.
