A well laid out town that is the hub of the Ord River Scheme. It sits on the east bank of the Ord River. The agricultural show is held here in July.
Kununurra
is the north-eastern gateway to the Kimberley region, which encompasses
about 420,000 kms of timeless landscapes and diverse land uses. Kununurra
was formed in the early 1960’s to service the construction of the
Ord Irrigation Scheme
Lake Kununurra offers swimming, water-skiing and sailing. Boat cruises on
Lake Kununurra and up the Ord River.
